The New year approaches-Thinking differently

As 2009 is coming to a close, I stopped a minute to contemplate what has transpired to me, my friends, this country, and those connected to me. I have concluded in my musing we need to think differently...In the bible it speaks of this- as a child, I thought as a child, but when I became man (adult), I put away childness things...You are still on milk, when you should be on meat...These verses are reminding us as we mature, we should think differently. Therefore, we should speak and act differently as we grow; it is a process...But we do not because we are not willing to understand this simple truth...See improving on what you have does not mean you are discounting the past accomplishments, but we are honoring them as we continue to grow; we use what is to as the platform, springboard for our progression. Time change but the message is the same, the delivery method and mode operation is different because the audience is different, and transformation is taking place because of it...So, asked yourself who is holding your ladder as you climb upward? never forget those below because without this individual(s), your presence circumstance would not be possible...thinking differently, i think is a must for our survival, for our progression, for our faith to thrive and love to live

De-Nile is not just a river in Egpyt, but also a state of mind....

Psalm 85:10-13-Love and Truth meet in the street, Right Living and Whole Living embrace and kiss!
Truth sprouts green from the ground, Right Living pours down from the skies!
Oh yes! GOD gives Goodness and Beauty; our land responds with Bounty and Blessing.
Right Living strides out before him, and clears a path for his passage. (MSG)

I read this verse, Psalm 85:10, in my morning devotion but when I went to read the different bible version on the computer, I had to include the others. It also made me think of the leader in each of us that frighten us, and the things we do, by commission and/or omission, to not own it…Yeah, where did that come from…Well, first of all love and truth are not going to meet if we living in the land of denial. Therefore, there is no quest for right and whole living, when we fail to own who we are. See, we are all leaders in some respect in this life whether it is at work, at home, at church, in our organizations or groups, etc. And the verses above cannot really be lived out in our daily life, until we understand who we are. Why we choose the people in our inner circle, the people in your life matter, recognizing generational dysfunction that creates much of the discord in life, learning to appreciate the blessing bestowed upon us, and knowing when to let go. I suggest we begin by grasping these two quotes ‘Until a person takes responsibility for where he is there is no basis for moving on because he has not faced or understood why he is there' by Andy Andrews in the book ‘the traveler’s gift’ and 'You cannot build a solid, substantial house with decayed planks, no matter what kind of veneer is put over their rottenness' James Cash Penney. Too many times we do not see ourselves clearly because it hurts, adversion to conflict (think about it), we do not want to hear the fallout of owning truth; silence is acceptance of what is by default and lays seeds for future dissension (yeah, it does, think about it)… Know you are not responsible for how others response to us, we only accountable for our actions, responds because nothing is ever what it seems – be free because it is not what you are called, but what you answer to…Nevertheless, we cannot build a substantial character and foundation for a future of progress without solid and well built foundation, figuratively or literally. We have to be honest with ourself, about ourself, and about those who are in your life. This does not mean you do not love or did not appreciate all that was, is done for you, but it does not change what must be done to live the best you; your truth, for your best life, in your time. Living truthfully, dispensing needed mercy, granting grace, moving forward with a forgiveness, and allowing right to resonate in our souls helps us to walk closer to our Father without letting go…think about it…Below, I have included a list of books that has made me re-examine ‘me’. It might look like an eclectic grouping of books; it is not. If you decide to read them, all I ask is you have an open mind and a desire for expansion of your perspective…it really is the lens, not the landscapes that needs to change first, in order for us to change…

How you doing?!

You know we are leaving 2009 and rapidly approaching 2010. For those who believe the holiday season is magical, loving, and reflective, think about something. This time, Christmas season, is also about restoration, forgiving, and fulfillment of a promise. Well, the number 10 Signifies allness or completeness in a physical way, as to things on earth. Ten implies that nothing is wanting; the number and order are perfect, and the whole cycle is complete. We can start anew, and receive our blessing but we have to endure to the end and stayed faithful to the word of God. We have to trust without reservations, do not let the external façade deflect our focus, it is just a mirage to detract and delay you because denial is not just a river in Egypt but also the state of mind many, if not all of us live reside in, in some area of our life….What do I mean? Look at this?...Take the order of things, if you remember correctly the following - there are 10 key clauses of the Lord’s Prayer (Matt. 6:9-12), and there are only 10-commandments (Ex. 20:1-17). Nothing was left out of either of these two things; they are complete as is. Now let us look at the completeness of a physical way - Daniel 1:14-15 - He agreed with them in this matter and tested them for 10 days. At the end of 10 days they looked better and healthier than all the young men who were eating the king's food. (HCSB)…Rev 2:10 - Don't be afraid of what you are about to suffer. Look, the Devil is about to throw some of you into prison to test you, and you will have tribulation for 10 days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life (HCSB)…Are we there yet or what am I trying to say? What I am trying to say is whatever you have been holding onto, dwelling on, stuck on, or wanting to do, this is the time to let it go and not let ‘it’, whatever it is, keep you prisoner any longer…Why? Luke 2:10 - But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid." (NIV)…God does want what is best for you, but He desires you to understand the growth process, the evolution of change, or the maturation in The Way is not easy. Lead by example. Remember? He planted his seed in an unmarried child in a time where this was not so acceptable, and resulted in some severe actions levied upon her. Then had the betroth Joseph to go ahead and married her’ the gossip ensued!...I do not need to further how the story ended, we all know, and reap benefits from it…Now, what are we afraid of? Gossip? Others opinion of you and what you are doing? Sacrifices that must be made? Losing Control? Challenges you must face? Why have your focus on these things, and not the Father? If you do, then is what manifest in you. You are given an immutable certification written in blood that guarantees you joy unspeakable, the promise of an abundant life, and no weapons form against shall prosper. Now raise your head, feel the void being filled in your life with love, and walk straight to your perfect destiny…

God's gift of intuition

I saw this book, ‘The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker’ and went ‘wow’; what a thought. Then I read this quote from the book-

True fear is a gift.

Unwarranted fear is a curse.

Learn how to tell the difference

At this point, I was intrigued and thought how this plays into the way the Father speaks to us, and we do not listen. See, this is a book about following your intuition, so that you can avoid and/or protect yourself against assault on your person. However, I wondering if that same intuition happens for us period; about danger, love, goodness, truth, lie, etc. Yet, we let our education, experience, what has been taught make us shake it off, rather than follow. We all have it but we do not all use it. Remember when Rahab help the twelve, and her family to be saved. Why did she do that? Was it a sense of a truth she knew, but had no reference point to following to act but she did; intuition spoke louder than her life experience. What about Elihu in his conversation with Job, he was the only one of the five who spoke rightly of God; remember. Where did this come from, this younguns’ knew better that the aged, learned man, and was willing to speak up during this time, and suffer the consequence? Really? Something told him a truth that culture mores and traditions did not. See, we all have this ability, and what do we do with it? Most of us just have taught ourselves to ignore it, closed our ear to it, and see it has a nuisance. Yet, it save lives, blesses lives, helps us to avoid problems, and brings us closer to our destiny and our greatest. Doing the thing that our intuition tells us, and I not talking about this madness that has to do with eyes, lust, external, but this sense addresses the internal, intent…What about the dialogue and Mary ultimate response to the awareness she was favor…Luke 1:37-38 For nothing is impossible with God." "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her. (NIV)…She knew inherently, her acceptance of this blessing, God shall provide, inspite of the tradition of the day, the cultural mores, the usual order of things, and the gossip that would ensue (because it did). She knew. How many of us have been directed by the angel, whether human or not, and we chose to not submit because of what others would think, goes against the rituals and traditions of the family, education, culture, or it puts us under scrutiny because of where we lived? We as Christians need to learn to tell the difference between ripples in reality for fleeting fantasy and the truth tiptoeing in our soul that is design for our destiny of success…

Yeah, my mind just goes there. I have always thought like this, and for the longest time believed everyone did too. However, life and time has taught me, not so much…Have a blessed holidays season and remember to listen to the Father, in whatever way He presents Himself to you, follow it and see blessings unfold - For nothing is impossible with God

What happened is….

I was watching the History International Channel the other day and stumbled upon a special of Martin Luther letter to the Catholic Church (95 These or Treatise). Martin wrote this to begin a dialogue within the church; it was never the intent to create a new faith, religion or separation but it did and the foundation for reason we most faiths now. His decision to question the practices of selling ‘indulgences’, celibacy requirement for priest, wanting to print the word for the common people to have access to, and much more. His decision open a Pandora’s Box that he never intended to see occur. He just wanted to get it right, and have the Catholic religion embrace the diversity of God’s character, the expansiveness of his love, and the redeeming power of his grace. The 95 These started a revolution of ideas, domino effect of positions taken, and the myriad voices of outlook; resulting death because everyone wanted to be right. When only all was desired is a conversation, a dialogue, the ability to participate in a healthy discourse for an exchange of idea. Yet, his act has left a legacy, a continual strain in our church today where people would rather separate, than listen one another in love to get a glimpse of God infinite reach of love that goes beyond our understanding…And just like Martin Luther, we carry the desire to conversate, engage one another in discourse, not discontinue or disconnect, but it happens because it is easier, we believe….In each of our lives, we carry a legacy, generational curse and blessing flowing through us. It is not genetically or scientifically validated but we see it, and we don’t. It depends upon the mood and if we are earnestly seeking authenticity of being, immutable truth preface by grace, mercy, and thanksgiving. No one sets out to create chaos, we find it because we cannot encompass the improbability or impossibility of a certain reality standing before us – God redemptive mysterious love for us and his preparation for the next chapter of life for you. What do we do? We defer to our expectations, follow the listening circle created by self, not God, and take the easy but tumultuous way to living life on earth. Then, we wonder - why God so much pain? And he is wondering back at us, it does not have to be, you just have to let me free you and see…Yeah, this was my weekend and the thoughts that plague my mind. I know the Holiday season is upon us…Some are seeking forgiveness, restoration, and love true, but most of us are looking for the external glossy, see your face mirror, tangibles to make each other smiles. Do not get it twisted, there is nothing wrong with giving to another; this is not what I am saying. But what about the internal part that matters most, and is twisted, worn, hurting, and weak…What happened is we forgot, to meet people where they are so a connection can be made, and God will do the rest…It is not going to be easy, but blessed!

Love not judgment...makes the difference

Matt 7:1-2 Do not judge so that you will not be judged."For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. (NASB)
Now, before anyone gets there feathers in a ruffle about me speaking about judging. I have made an assessment of us, Christians. We, Christian, are all commissioned to disciple others but how are we doing this. What is our method of delivery to attract, to retain, and to sustain or provide for those people. First of all, it is very difficult to accomplish this when we are still using man’s way, or using the world attracting tools, the way the world uses them. I am all for not being restrictive, and being fluid for our method of delivery, except when it comes to the word of God; no negotiation with word of God’s truth. However, to do so we must embrace these verses first… Rom. 12:1-2 - Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.(NASB)…and then become more intentional and strategic in our application in order to draw, sustain, and keep the babes in Christ. In these times so that they may grow to disciple others through their focus on God, because when we do not, we create the mess, we will claim but created. We teach them to judge others, when they come in to worship and praise. We forget these people are coming to learn and see what is going on in the church. Before they commit to walk this Christian journey with us; to see if the love we teach, preach, and explain is the one we live by because they have seen hypocrites outside the church.

The people coming in with their hot mess outfits, street attire and swagger are looking for the love, not the judgment we offer at the door. We avoid, we do not reach out to them, if we asked them to not wear something or do something, and they refuse, we must understand from whence come. Judgment would not get you anything, and if we are honest with ourselves, we do not like it much either. Think about, you walk into an environment you are not sure of, and people expect you to know what is, what? That is how the world does it. Christian should follow a different example, remember Christ; he met people where they were. He explained things in terms they understood, and could relate to anyone when he spoke. He even came via an unwed mother, and born in not so desirable conditions. The parables were not just good stories, He was imparting information, explaining the love of God, the grace and mercy we should give, without judgment to draw others with love…See, when we are transformed by the renewing of our minds, no more judgment..Then, we are to have our hearts changed and let God order and direct our steps… Proverbs 16:9 - In your heart you plan your life. But the Lord decides where your steps will take you. (NIRV)…No, judging, just living the loving example set by Christ in his living….

Mary's obedience teaches!

Luke 1:26-38…emphasis verses 29-30;38 - Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God…"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her. (NIV)…How different would our life be if we were more like Mary, the mother of Jesus. Mary did not worry about what others would think, what would be said, whether or not her espoused would be there for her, or how her she would answer her family…There is a old saying, what people think of you is none of your business – that is what they think, it does not make it truth except for them…Mary honored the called upon her life, she obeyed and submitted. She did enter into the games of show-and-tell, or deal-or-no deal; she said I will. Her only worry really was why, how, she was chosen out of all the people. God said, me?... See, favor ain’t favor why struggle over its existence in your life…She knew, she was not worthy and did not think she was ready but knew, if He said it, then he would provide. How different would our world be if we each had the mind of Mary that befits our time? That we would not get caught up with other people opinions of our past, or our present; we just keep our eyes focus on the Father. How few our fears and heartaches would we have to contend with, if we just trusted in the Father without reservation, and not worry who would be with us on the journey He taking us. We would reduce our disappointment, hurt, stress levels and find blessing untold heap upon us for generations, upon generation. See, our obedience, submission, and trust in the Father today, grants legacy in our life for tomorrow. This only happens when we release our expectations when they come in conflict with God ordained reality. It changes our world. It allows anger, selfishness, and conceit to concede to amazing grace and love unconditional distributed by us, as we model the Sovereign One! We will begin to see the diversity of his character, God…We are privy to the majestic ability to create multifaceted people to worship, praise, and seek him in methods varied but focus on Him! Then no weapons form against us shall prosper for He that is in me is greater than those externally to me, as the Law of Confession cleanse us and keeps me in His will!

Do not fear

In the bible we are told not to fear at least 365 times. If it is included that many times in the bible, then it was said at least that many times to us mere human, then it would it stand to reason, He wants us not to fear. To believe the impossible and the improbable, and let our faith in Him reign with the soundness of our faith we have, when we sit in a chair. Letting this faith and trust flow freely, unhindered by what we see, what we hear, or what another believes because what God ordains, He will always sustain. We have to not fear, and this is hard to do in today’s times. In the instant this, I believe-it-when-I-see-it attitudes, and nothing is accepted without the tangible facts. Spiritual enlightenment is sold on every television channel, bookstore, and corner store palm-reader; it makes it hard to speak of God’s radical revolution. However, true spiritual enlightenment cannot be bought or sold, and it is not being peddled anywhere. When God whispers your name, nothing is the same, just like the old adage says…So, as we seek to remain strong, and hold on to the fact God knows best; no matter the outcome or what is happening. We should not fear.

Not fearing is scary. However, do not fear reminds us that when we honor God, He puts us on the path for our ‘best life’ and miraculous things happen…The question we must ask ourselves at every crossroads – if we believe like we say, we do, then, why don’t we act on it, instead of walking in fear…Matt 14:26-29…When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," he said. (NIV)

Giving Thanks

Giving thanks, yes, it is that time of year again. This is the time of year, when we become more conscious of the plight of those around us. It is not that the people were not there before, because they were, it is just that during this season, we become more intentional about giving; universally. We become more conscientious about how we have been blessed, and how fortunate we really are; inspite of what we do not have. Although, I do not begrudge this altruistic outpour by so many, including myself, I wonder during this season do ever stop to say – Thanks to the Father!...the bible does says this Psalm 136:1-3 (read the entire chapter and see) Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good. His love is eternal. Give thanks to the God of gods. His love is eternal. Give thanks to the Lord of lords. His love is eternal (HCSB). Do we ever think about giving thanks to the Father for the confusing day, because without it, you nor I would learn to appreciate melodic embrace brought about on the balance blessed days …Do we stop to thank the Father for those growing years, seasons, where we are stretch beyond belief and we tell others, more than on one occasion, I about to lose it and forget I Christian. Instead, asking God what is it, whatever you are doing, don’t do it without me; I desire to be a part of your magnificent plan…Or maybe taking the time to thank him for inspiring each of us to change, when we would have not chosen to do so without the prompting, and remain in the rut and complain. God chose for us the better way that challenged and blessed us; hallelujah every time!…Giving thanks is not just for the good things we enjoy, it for all things we endure; God uses all things for our good. However, when we are so focus and consumed with the negative, we miss the message, the blessing, and the gift provided. For every problems contains the solutions in it, and it begins with us being thankful; we can focus on the problem or the purpose, our choice. The latter enriches you, and the former is self-destructive. Giving thanks that is not limited to season or month but part of a daily occurrences in our life. See, God knows what is happening to you, He wants us to know, if you and I know he able, and would not let anything happen in your life for naught. The way we can show him, tell, is giving thanks to him; always.

My Blood shall speak

Christ’s blood will speak through eternity and on our behalf. It provide and grant what our sacrificial offering could never bring. One cannot clean with what is unclean, and only a perfect pure sacrifice is needed. So, the choice was made to let the blood run on the ground so all living thing would be given grace and mercy, and have them reign over us, and overrule justice. As the animals were bleed outside the temple before coming into the temple to be use as a sacrifice, so did our Saviour as He became the sacrifice, and His body the temple…The perfect offering that granted healing for the hurt, transformation for our transgressions, and spiritual enlightenment for our souls. The touch of infallible silence the angels, the quiet whispers of his words brought the message, and the ridiculous improbability became the intentional act that changed us all for the better. Hearts were awaken with a renew sense as the earth spoke and the heavens cried. The French Philosopher Blaise Pascal said it best – The heart has its reason which reason knows nothing of….So is God loves for us, a puzzle we will never figure out…this is what happens to us when the collision between pure true and those who seek; we see…Christ blood shall speak to silence our fears, direct our focus, and guide both conscious and unconscious into a seamless line toward a brighter and unspeakable joy days…

Matt. 7:16"You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? (NASB)

When we deny the truth that is, we lay the groundwork, foundation for confusion to permeate through our lives and those that are connected to us. Denial is insidious and without end, unless cut from the root that gives it life. The denial of truth becomes a spiritual vampire sucking the life out of each of us, as we choose things, people, and relationships that allow this to perpetuate…However, before I go any further let me be clear, authenticity is not perfections. It knowing who you are, and owning it as we come to terms with the overwhelming statement ‘we are saved sinners by grace”…Now, back to why it matters to be authentic. The fact of the matter, what is today, is just a new discovery or revelation to us, and comes with acceptance of what has already and always has been in and with us; but not to those who know us best, they have always seen it in us. Yet, for some reason we Christians are so caught in our little world of make believe reality because the world likes it, and it is easier, even though we are called to be transformed, not perfect; this we seek a new way. Nevertheless, we all agree anything worth having is not easy and worth the work, but when it comes to earnestly seeking God we falter. All because we have been taught the blunt truth and brutal honesty mean mentality. However, the Word demonstrates over and over, truly loving one another is being honest with them, for their good in a loving matter. See we all know what it feels like to be corrected by someone who loves us, and those who is out to hurt or humiliate us, the delivery is just a little different…think about it….See the Sovereign One modeled it for us – statement made frame in a grace and mercy, unmerited favor reprieve. When we can be accepting of our own flaws, then it fosters the ability not only to forgive easier and naturally, but also speak life in others, as we speak life into ourselves. We concede to God’s way when we are not sure of any other way because His truth, promise, and word never fail or dissipate…Because we cannot get, produce, or reproduce what is not in us, nor can we attract it either. Authenticity matters because we matter to God!

Perfect Trust

Romans 8:25 - But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it. (HCSB)

Perfect trust moves us beyond the grin-and-bear-it mode, and the just get along attitudes. It, perfect trust, means we remain in the position of waiting with open hearts, open hands, and open arms. For the revelation has come to us, I am dependent on the faith in the father, I will not be consume in fret or tempt to relent. I will submit the simple phrase as my mantra – For God to increase, i must decrease – as I am await the touch from the Father. To receive the showers of grace to comfort me; the cloak of love to reassure me, He has not forgot me; the refreshing supremely holy arms to hold me, letting me know, I am not alone, and the Master smiles upon my soul ‘do not be moved’…I know it will not be easy but I can sustain because the Sustainer has me. In the end of it all, I will see the beautiful change and like the phoenix of men, spiritually and physically, I shall live in abundance that befits me in my time according to God’s measure. Your, Grace Granter, healing hands, transforming me to Thee…Because when I thought no one was listen, paying attention, or getting me, you like the mother giving, preparing unknowingly, you were there in my presence demonstrating how faithful the Father really is to his children… For there is no one so worthy, faithful, or holy like our Father, and He always takes care of us; we just have to embrace Perfect Trust and persever...

We will all have to give account for our actions.

Rev. 20:11-13 I saw a Great White Throne and the One Enthroned. Nothing could stand before or against the Presence, nothing in Heaven, nothing on earth. And then I saw all the dead, great and small, standing there—before the Throne! And books were opened. Then another book was opened: the Book of Life. The dead were judged by what was written in the books, by the way they had lived. Sea released its dead, Death and Hell turned in their dead. Each man and woman was judged by the way he or she had lived (MSG).

See we are all to be accountable for our actions. We are going to be judge for what we have done; some by default (silent is consent by default) and by consent, if we knew right and did not do. Yet, we lived like what we do does not matter. We behave with the lack of awareness, what happens in the dark or in secret, never find us out; it does. We live it, in our actions, we tell it, with our speech, and we show it, in our connections; for those who have lens to see, see it. Because when the truth is so ugly, figuratively to us, the lie becomes the attractive nuisance we cannot deny. Then we choose the story, the path, the way that fits our lives and heart desire, right now. Forgetting, God is there and all his truths are not meant to be beautiful to us because of the imperfections and flaws in us, rather they are to be beneficial and for our good. Not all things good for us is good to us, and although we know this, we ignore it when it suits us. Then we wonder why we find ourselves in conundrums, situations, and issues occurring in our life; it is our choice. We question the will and the way of God. We fail to embrace the truth of the Father; his logic is not ours, his way is not ours, and his reasoning is not ours. See only a God like ours will take the wretch, the unwanted and the foolishness of man and make kings, philosophers, and radical innovative messengers that transform lives into a legacy format. We will all be judged and have to stand before the Throne of Grace and answer for the irreverent, unforgiving, and selfish motivated behavior condone and performed by each us. The irony is this, we choose our fate, and our eternal destination every second, every month, every year, and being honest with self allows this to be grace filled and god-directed…your choice.

Someday is just a delay

Ecc. 3:1;15 -There is an occasion for everything, and a time for every activity under heaven…Whatever is, has already been, and whatever will be, already is. God repeats what has passed.(HCSB).

Is some day? In just a minute or I will do it tomorrow? Do these times ever arrive for us? For most of us, they either never come, or we move out of sync with God’s timing. The logic for this kind of thing goes hand and hand with this – if I always owe you (money that is), then you are never broke. This statement stands there in the darkness plagued of confusion as we let it steal away the light, the right that should be done but we allow it not to be. We find ourselves moving toward the attractiveness of the lie, the confusion, the disorder and the excuse more enticing than the truth that is not so invitingly pretty. So we opt for the short-term, temporary or hurried right now, rather than wait for the right the time for the beautiful future. It is amazingly ironic when the truth of our deliverance lies in the what seem to be difficult, dangerous, complicated or complex that covers the diamond in the rough, we opt for the sublimeness of disobedience. Then by default we create a heart that will not forgive, eyes that will not see, and a soul that is closed to the pure touch. Even though, we all know there is a time, place, reason, and what God speak, is. This should encourage us to say yes to His will; inspite of what is before us to undertake. Because in uncertain time, He cracks rocks to bring an infinite spring of refreshing water, make much out of little to feed thousands, and speaks to the turbulent weather and all are at peace. So, some day is a just a delay because God timing is flawlessly perfect; we just have to choose to go, and trust He shall provide, regardless of what it looks like…eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, nor has it entered into the hearts of man what God has in store for…He just did not say it would easy…smiling… just that He would do the impossible…

Strength in our faithfulness

Great is our faithfulness. When you are faithful to the father deliverance is received and accepted. When you get delivered, all those connected to you are touched, changed, and receives a portion of deliverance because of your faithfulness. The key is to stay planted, plugged into the source that allows you to strength, growth, sturdiness, and grounding. When we are planted by the cooling, reassuring, and reliable source that sustains life like water, God’s grace, we remain. We shall bear fruit that blesses. We shall not wither away, and always prosper. Yet, we will still have to endure the metaphorical rain, the symbolic storms, metaphorical coolness, and the figurative heated sun that provides the transformative tools to keep us unmoved. For all is needed for our good and bestows us understanding of the season we are in without the distressing…Psalm 1:3 - He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither And in whatever he does, he prospers (NASB). The question we must ask ourselves is - do we desire to prosper in our season, or do we wither away because of our fear.

Listening

Listening is to concentrate on hearing something or someone, and taking what is being said into account. Being in the moment without thinking of your answer while the person is talking, or the action is happen, but taking in everything that happen.

It is more than just hearing what is being said because we hear, but do not listen and it shows in our reply. We many times hear another but we do not listen to them. We have gone to many meetings, seminars, conference, services, and discussion where you only heard, but never got it, and then wonder how come you missed what everyone else got it. You are awake, your eyes glaze over, but your mind is wondering on the night before, what happening across the room, taking into account the physical attributes of another or what they are wearing, engaging in a conversation, or doodling on a piece of paper to keep you awake. We all have done this at one point another because we assume what was being said was not relevant to us, our situation, or you have heard it before; thus, i do not need to listen..if you keep hearing the same message, maybe it is because you are not getting what you should out of it. When we get the lesson, we no longer are taught the same information, begin to live and teach it. Yet, we never wondered why am I keep hearing this over or over again, or what am I missing that I have to keep hearing this. Maybe because you have not listen to the information set before you.

But when we listen, we are blessed, others are blessed, and lives change as a result of it. Hosea listern, life change for a group of people; Noah listened and was save; Paul listened and his life was changed; Abraham listened and birth a nation; Mary listened and concieve a miracle, and Ruth listened and changed her station in life... In the bible we see the redemptive gift in listening, following, and doing what would bring ridicule from man, but glory to God... See willingness to listen, obeying, and surrendering changes lives, saves lives, and redeems lives. None of it is easy or without sacrifice, and I believe Kirk Franklin got it right when he says in his song, - the pain was preparation for my destiny and I forgive you - When we begin look at life like this, we see the blessings, the teaching, the informing, and wisdom gains in all situation....Listening will allow one to forgive...Read the Epistle Philemon..

The little things matters

1 Cor. 5:6 - Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough?(NIV).

It is not the big things in life that destroys us so much because we them see coming, and act accordingly. It is the little things that come our way, on a daily basis. Slowly, deliberately the little things find its way into our lives, and end up as part of our core. Therefore, taking care of the little things; matters. This does not mean we ignore the big things in our life. The big things, although unexpected occurrences, we pay attention to them, and work diligently to repair. But the little things, well, we just let them slide as they insinuate themselves into our lives, moment by moment, day by day. Until it has become a part of our life, and we have no idea how this change occurred. See the little things we ignore, or felt was not a big deal at the time has worked its way into who we are, now. We now must begin to backtrack, to get to the root and this incredibly painful is excruciating for us mentally, emotionally, and to our relationships…The little things have now move through the whole, the entire body, and should have never been ignore but it was just not that big of a deal at the time, has cost more us too much. The irony to all of this is, we do not need anyone to tell us what it is, we already know what the little things that have eaten into our core…But there is a flip side to the little things that becomes a part of our core and it is this…Matthew 25:21 "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness (NIV) Why can’t we let those build in our lives so we can prosper; it matters….See either way, if you take care of the little things, the big things will, shall always take care of themselves…

Reproduce or Produce

Phil. 4:8 – 9 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. (NASB)

If you can carry it, then you can produce it. Our thoughts today result in our actions tomorrow. Therefore, we must cultivate thoughts that are good, not malicious intent, self-serving practices, if we desire mercy, grace, and favor to trump justice. See you can reproduce what we have seen, are told to do, what is demonstrated for us, and taught to us. However, this does not allow us to produce anything; only reproduce everything because there is no depth, just surface. We know the right words, can give the expected response, like the magician, it is all part of the grand illusion; the metaphorical slight of the hand. All because we do not dwell on the true, the faithful, the helpful, the honest, the love, the accurate, the forgiveness, and the genuine things that allows us to move forward. We would rather dwell, unfortunately, on the negative, replay ill intent in our heads, selfishness in our hearts, and hold to the hurt. Thus, we cannot produce what is not in us, it not some random reason why we are not in a better state of mind, it is intentional. Until we are willing to be authentic and genuine with what is within us, and learn to be free of the self-imposed figurative prison, we only replicate, not generate. Once we allow ourselves to be free, then we can do what Phil 4:8 says, and then begin to practice it as Phil 4:9 says. The decision is each person’s…choose or not choose by being honest and truthful to self; it is up to each us…

Accountability and Responsibility

Ecc 3:5b -A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing. (NASB)

There is a time to embrace by those who loved us. They provide encouraging soothing tone, supporting reassuring words, loving honest affirmation, and cooling water insight. However, the person who loves us to be able to look us in our face, flat-footed, shoulders erect, back straight, at arm length away, and tell us, ‘you are wrong..out of order…this is inappropriate.’…is priceless… Letting us know, how our actions, behavior, and/or words to another is badly chosen, an illustration of poor manners, displays a lack of integrible intent, and is a malicious delivery method. This not done with a blunt force trauma hit, rather from a foundation of love and desires to see us grow in the godly person, God called us to become. Not wanting us to be self-destruction, as they reach out to us with honest words, not loving arms to affirm or confirm, but lovingly correction to advise of a better way to handle the issue at hand. Having a person in our life that loves us this much is truly a gift, and invaluable assessed that we sometimes ignore or avoid. Because we do not understand, comprehend the holistic love Christ taught and left as a legacy for all Christians to include in our daily walk.

If all your friends only validate your madness, and never correct your self-demise ways which leads you to self-destruction, then they do not understand the gift of love grant to us by the Sovereign one. The cannot, and will not speak in your life with the choice words that give life, rather their words shall depleted and live you stagnate…See, He loved us enough to rebuke the evil, and embrace the good, the right, the godly. Do you have anyone in your life that helps you to be both accountable and responsible? If not, know that this is needed, and you need to be open to it. So you will always know the difference between content and context, one is about what is within (content), while the other is about the surrounding conditions (context), and relevance and significance, one is about the importance to the matter at hand (relevance), while the other (significance) is about the weight of it changes everything beyond the moment. This is important to understand because accountability and responsibility loses its usefulness and when to embrace and when to shun embracing is lost, but more importantly, applied, implemented and used without awareness and it stings….accountability and responsibility a necessity in our Christian walk, we should not be without…priceless

The heart reflects who we are

Proverbs 27:19 – As in water reflects face, so the heart of man reflects man (NASB)

What is in our hearts comes out in our walk; it is reflected there. As the water reflects what it sees, so does our talk, our walk, and our interactions are all based on what is in us. What we speak comes from within…this is the reason God looks at our heart, the inside when he chooses us to do a certain task. It is not random, coincidental, or accidental. He has no random acts, we do ‘me’; no more, no less. Whether we act out of fear, or out of faith; it is who we are at the core. We need to remember and understand we are the architects of our own lives. Therefore, we must take into account the choices we make. How we present ourselves, and how we are fiercely afraid to present to others our true person. Yet, we reflect that person because it is what insides us, and we can only be who we are. But we are all too afraid to own that person so that we can move forward in our lives, and expand our horizon; it is like we would rather hinder ourselves, than grow…It reminds me of a something I heard once – King Kong would not have been killed, had he took the elevator instead scaling the building…King Kong revert to his nature in a crisis, just like us, and it was the cause for his demise. All because he never was comfortable with himself to expand, his understanding. So, let us all live true to us and become a traveling light that eclipses the madness that tries to overtake our authentic person…So, the next time you have the opportunity to live authentically and see your heart reflect in your life, let it breath; no matter the cost…The poet Rilke says it best – …“Let everything happen to you, Beauty and terror, Just keep going, No feeling is final’..All choices have the beauty and the terror, do not be afraid…The going through and living our truth, provides growth so let your heart be reflected because you are beautiful just as you are…Rem - God chose, you as you, not the fake, façade, phony but you with all your flaws…If he can love like that, why can’t you…smiling

Gifts use for excuses

Luke 14:18-20 "But they all alike began to make excuses. The first one said to him, 'I have bought a piece of land and I need to go out and look at it; please consider me excused.' "Another one said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out; please consider me excused.' "Another one said, 'I have married a wife, and for that reason I cannot come.' (NASB)
Why do we use what was given as a gift to enhance, enrich, and complement our lives, as we serve the Father be used as an excuse not to serve him? We use them to get out of doing the will of the Father, or accept the invitation of the Father. See, all the things the land, the possession, and people in the verses were all allowed by the father, for the abundant life, not for a life without the Father. What has God given you, us, and is now used as an excuse to not serve God. Is it going to college? Getting the new job? The anomaly, variance present in your mental, psychological or physical life? How about the friends and family members? The new relationship? The children? Etc. The very thing, person we are given to bless us, was never meant to stand between us and God’s relationship. How our priorities in our Christian life order become so awry. Is it because we did not count the cost of the choices made? Every choice made is accompanied by the following – unforeseen implications, unintended consequences, and requires a change in our life. We would do well to remember this when we are choosing. For all that is allowed to come into, happen in life is meant to enhance, not distract from it. If what is in our life make us more inclined to move further from Go, either it should have never been in our life, or we need to look with different lens to see what is before us for corrected vision. Always know God created and granted everything for our use in living and growth, not to detract from the relationship between us (God and me). We should never use what is given as a gift, to be use as an excuse to not serve, worship, praise, work, or seek God. So, the next time you get caught up in the gifts allowed, granted, and created by God for you, think about Job and what he did after losing everything…Job 1:20-21 - Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped. He said,”Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I shall return there. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD." (NIV) …Let us be like Job and not let ‘stuff’ get between us and God’s relationship so we can refuse the invitations from God because gifts are not excuses to be use against He; we choose to do this.

Distorted Vision

John 9:3;6-7 Jesus answered, "It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him…When He had said this, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and applied the clay to his eyes, and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent) So he went away and washed, and came back seeing. (NASB)

The blind man was given sight by Jesus. But his encounter was not one known by the people, and it was never seen before this. However, the blind accepted a new thing, and was obedient to instruction given; he was healed. The same is true for us today. We have a distorted vision of our eyes, heart, and mind just as the disciple – they asked who sin, and Jesus explains this is for God might to be displayed. Until we are exposed and changed by the word of God, beginning on the inside of each of us, we will always have distorted vision and interpretation. See, the man’s mind and heart was open to the possibility; Jesus ability to give him sight. We too can obtain sight, change, and have a more abundant life, if or when we choose to be open to the gift of the truth. Even when it comes to us in a different form than we were once told, and/or the means we are use to receiving. Because greater the impossibility, more significant and greater is the awesome impact of God’s touch as our hearts open, so do eyes open to the way, the truth, and the life found in the God’s way.

See, we are not required to be stuck in the same old, same old, when change is possible; but we must believe, be stretched to receive and see it. . We are not talking about change for change sake, but change for the better because if we are not open to the truth before us, as a result of what is inside us. We remain with our distorted vision and miss out on the blessing connected to it….John 9:28-34 Then they hurled insults at him and said, "You are this fellow's disciple! We are disciples of Moses! We know that God spoke to Moses, but as for this fellow, we don't even know where he comes from." The man answered, "Now that is remarkable! You don't know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes. We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly man who does his will. Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind. If this man were not from God, he could do nothing." To this they replied, "You were steeped in sin at birth; how dare you lecture us!" And they threw him out...The question before each of today as Christian - Are to God mysterious ways for our good?

When we do right God remembers.

Gen 17:1-2;17 - Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless. "I will establish My covenant between Me and you, And I will multiply you exceedingly."…"I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. (NASB)

When we do right God remembers. He does not forget, even though we think no one is looking. He gives us a word, he provide us instructions, and present the protocol, we just have to trust Him. Yet, we do not because we think we cannot. Yet, God would have never asked us to do, what we are unable to do or what he has not provided a way for you to do. Furthermore, our willingness to obey, walk blameless before Him, and seek His face result in not only are we covered by our faith, but also the generations that come after us. See, when we cover ourselves because our relationships with God. God grants us the complex divine and metamorphosis grace that goes through the generations, when we, the individuals, establish a transcendent foundation on His word. Then we, our actions, cover others; because we cannot do for ours, what we cannot do for ourselves. However, when we are willing to submit to God, and build according to the Father’s will. We find that our individual covenant has greater implications than we could ever imagine, and devote blessed consequences we never expected, but are here. Because we chose to give into the call of God on our life, even when we it seems impossible, or that we are done having anything to contribute. God will bring fruit out of a barren lands, He shall build kingdoms from the broken and unloved, he creates apostle out of an assassin, grants kings favor to orphans, and changes the scorching fire to warm breezes that do not burn…All because when we do right, God remembers all that is promise and who he chosen….

God sometimes called people with no prior training

Psalm 40:8 I delight to do Your will, my God; Your instruction resides within me." (HCSB)

Proverbs 20:5 Counsel in a man's heart is deep water; but a man of understanding draws it up. (HCSB)

God sometimes called people with no prior training, out of the blue, it seems. God called Joshua, not Aaron, or anyone else to lead the Israelites we would expect after Moses dies. We did not see much of Joshua demonstrating leadership, or anything, but like when he call David, he, God, knew his heart. The Lord saw the deep still waters of his soul, and it was drawn out of Joshua. Why? Because he delighted in the will of God and knew, even if no one else knew, God’s instruction resides within him and he shall succeed by following. How many times have God prompted us to act, do, say, and/or go, we do not. Our faith wavers, our mind begin to focus on the logical deductive reason that makes sense to us, in our mind, not realizing God does not think like us, and sees today, yesterday and tomorrow in one vision. Forgetting God knows who we are, what we are capable of doing before he calls us. See, too many time we are ready but we are not always willing because it is not want we desire to do, or would like to do; stretches us. Then, we wonder, why have I not live in abundance, growth does not appear in my walk, and I am not where I know I suppose to be. Well, when we refuse God’s call, we can because our free will, we do not get the extras that come with it. Joshua listened, and obeyed, followed the instruction given. So once Joshua began to draw on what was him, rest in the instruction residing within him, God did the following, God provided Joshua with instructions on how to be a leader for the people, and what he need to do to received..Joshua 1:6-9 -"Be strong and courageous, for you will distribute the land I swore to their fathers to give them as an inheritance. Above all, be strong and very courageous to carefully observe the whole instruction My servant Moses commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right or the left, so that you will have success wherever you go. This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to recite it day and night, so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do. Haven't I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." (HCSB). Now, how many want Joshua’s like favor, in modern times that befits your life and experience? I suggest most desire to have all what God gave Joshua, but we are not all willing to obey, delight in the will of God, nor draw on the deep understanding in our heart for God’s use. We desire only to impress our few friends, laud ourselves over others in our self-glorified praise, yet remain in the same circumstance and condition of nowhere growth. Yet, let a person, man, who is Oprahifed touch, Trumpitfic ability, speak into our life. Then we are all over it, and cannot do it fast enough, even though we know they are fallible and imperfect. So, we deny the infallible for the fallible, right!? When the infallible get their ability from the Father; they drawn from the deep still waters within, and follow the instructions to move. Who do we think put them there?....God!?! then why don’t we obey Him? Delight in His instructions because all roads lead to triumph, victory, abundance, and blessings. Although, what you get may be what you desire, you will have more peace and smoother stay in this world, because you are in the lane you were supposed to be in, not trying to fit where you do not belong. God calls people without prior, or the appropriated training we assumed needed…because He knows what is there within us. The question is do we have the trust and faith to draw on it?

Wavering faith is counterproductive

James 1:6-8 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways (NASB).

Wavering faith is counterproductive. It shows to us and others there are deficiencies present, here, in this place. What do I mean? Well, wavering means we are not sold on either side of an issue; we cannot play Switzerland, even they had to choose. We are not sure of what we are doing, or seeing; we are just not convinced. See, when you are convince of something, we do not waver, doubt or second-guess ourself about the issue, we know, what we knew and move forward on this legitimacy It is the equivalent to driving drunk; you cannot stay in your lane and are a danger to anyone near your vehicle because of the weaving, and drifting in the other lanes without indication or notification. Each endeavor we try to undertake, does not matter what it is, we approach with trepidation, as you stand on a faith that is foundationless. As our aptitude is formed by our attitude in life, we never achieve our own greatest because we do not ‘get it’. Because even if everyone else sees how great you are, until you believe it, we waver. We see it depicted in our lives…trying to be everyone’s friends, instead of loving them with the godly love and moving on…we try to make everyone happy and like us, impossible task (Christ was not liked by all, why should we be)...we will not accept no, or say no to anyone, even when we know, we will not do what is asked (Christ illustrated over and over again, you have to choose)….we try to be invisible and not be notice to not be challenged or stretched..We never want to choose between anything and/or anyone, we desire to have it all, but life is nothing like that. Because the fundamental elements of God’s basic math requires an approach that is foreign as it is illogical of our elementary understanding of things…In God logic we must subtract to add…we must divide to multiply…and we must give up, to have the abundant life. Therefore, the wavering keeps us in the undecided category where there is no lost, but definitely no gain…we all desire the gain, and no one likes to an indecisive person…neither does God…it is counterproductive… For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord…

The Revelations of Being Called

Acts 9:13-17 But Ananias answered, "Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints at Jerusalem; and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name." But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel; for I will show him how much he must suffer for My name's sake." So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after laying his hands on him said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit." (NASB)
Being called by God, we must first be clear; anyone can be called by God. God is the only one who decides on the necessary credentials, not man, as we see in these verses. God only calls us when we are ready. When we are able to be truly used by God is the moment in time that we are not only ready, but also willing and open to Him word. Knowing it is the greatest blessing and the most difficult, awesome challenging opportunity for us to live. Once the gravity of this settles in our soul, like it did for Ananias, we can do as he did; be obedient even when it seems preposterous or arduous. He, Ananias, became obedient to the request, faithful to the task at hand, focus on the Father, and submitted unrelentingly to the trust in God would provide for His will to be fulfilled. And slowly but surely, realization set in there will be no popularity contest gold star winner’s badge for taking on this task, and your actions will not be validated by the majority opinion. The person being used, called by God will no longer just reproduce, mimick, or mirror what you see, but actually produce what you proclaim. Because you live it from the essence, the core of your soul, being…it shows…and it is priceless…As God shows you there is no more than one path to Him and His glory, and a person past behavior does not exempt them from being used by God. Actually, it was preparation for the call because God knows everything…thus, as it the mystical sect of Judaism, we too have righteous men in the Christian faith, who do extraordinary mercy display acts, and they are not random…they were just called being called

Intimacy

Yes, intimacy, the closeness and the ability to shed inhibition, just be true you...We are willing to do this with people, who are imperfect, be apart of an organization, and we desire it. Yet, when it comes to God, our relationship with Him, we are hesitate, fearful, standoffish, uneasy with it. However, we want the benefits of His love without the passion, obedience, and openness of our person to him, completely. We give just enough until it hurts a little bit, bruises, scrape the surface, graze over some sensitive areas, then stop. Having faith and letting God direct, lead you, show you, and be compass for the way...Our story is more than our war story, testimony, epiphany moment to be shared at a later date with a select few, a certain group, a particular organization. I am not saying it does not bless in those setting, but let me ask this question - how many times have you been some where and a stranger clarified your vision, focus, faith with his/her story? Who was that?
When you have true intimacy, it resonates and changes, have individuals marinating on the story years later. Every time it is heard, it is a teachable moment for all ages, generations, races, and no matter their situation. A point of impact where nothing is orchestrated, it just happens. In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus brings with him, Peter, James and John...these three were the closes to Jesus..But let me redirect you here, Peter, James and John slept through the heralding anguish anxiety Jesus endured, it was not fitful, restless,  or uncomfortable. It was as if they knew without knowing, that a change was coming and no matter what, they would be protected. Jesus praying more earnestly with each hour approaching and blood dropping rather than sweat from his physical body, but they are not move. Jesus comes back 3x -"Could you not stay with me one hour?, I can see them now, huh? eyes and heads unbalanced as they went back to sleep each time. Ever been that comfortable, safe, secure, in a metaphorical wilderness of unfamiliarity but so sure that you did this, and you were not tired? That close to someone, without knowing, how you know that everything is going to be alright because now you cannot comprehend the struggle you will face, just know the outcome and you are at peace...Jesus did not falter, his passion, fervor, focus, as a result to the intimate relationship with the Father and them - Love

True intimacy is love where words cannot define it, measures that cannot quantify it, and time only reinforce it. As expressions, actions, illuminate it and feelings overwhelmed as warm tears roll down your check. Having these are rare but being open to the will of the Lord allows you to do the right thing, even when the wrong way is the easy way, a beautiful mind is born, and saving yourself and others intimacy is  possible....these things make some shout, scream, yell, dance, because yes, virginia there really is a Jesus who lived, died, rose, and ascended......

One person matters

Eze. 22:30 - I searched for a man among them who would repair the wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land so that I might not destroy it, but I found no one (HCSB)

One person matters. Sometimes we think, one person is not enough to make a difference for a circumstance, situations, or condition. However, in the verse above it only requires one person to stand in the gap that would prevent destruction to a land; WOW!~. If one stands up, and begin to understand, it only takes the one to do, to see change, then we will be convince more that we, the individual, matter. Too many times we will not begin to do, or are afraid to do because we are alone. We seem to forget, we serve a God who will, shall, and always provide, when we walk according to his will. See, we are quick to see the song, recite the verse, or teach the lesson about the many individuals who found their voice and strength to stand; one person. We see it in biblical times and modern times from Abram to Rahab to Elihu to the Deborah to Samson to David to Oprah to JFK and MLK to Mother Theresa to Gates to Obama. These people, whether you like them are not, were catalyst for change beyond themselves, and I am sure you know individuals in your community, family, work, or amongst our friends. However, we were all made, fashion uniquely, distinctively for a purpose that only we can do. God did not mode you in love, polished you in grace, refine you in mercy, for us to think we do not matter, or cannot make a difference. Because you see, you could be the one who speaks into the one who make the next majestic discovery, or the one that stops someone from giving up on them self. It is not about how great or small, it is all significant to God; what you do to the least of them, you do unto me. And God created you for such a time as this for a reason. Your birth, it is not happenstance, or hazard, whether in or out of wedlock, in want or opulence, an intact family or a hodge-podge because of life circumstances, or ability challenged or not, or you were loved or hated as child, you were put here for a purpose only you can do. See, you matter, and it not a fluke or random that you do what you do, when you set your face to God; God if it is you can bid me to walk on the water…Yea of little faith why doubt…. The questions is when are you, we going to stop the fear of the unknown and the unwillingness to let go of the control from hindering the true you, the authentic person to be. Remember you are covered by grace, you are lifted by the redeeming love, and your name is on the lips of the Sovereign one. God knows you need Him because you need to go in peace, and cannot do without his touch…One person matters…..

Are we flexible and willing

Luke 9:47-50; 59-60 - But Jesus, knowing what they were thinking in their heart, took a child and stood him by His side, and said to them, "Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great." John answered and said, "Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name; and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow along with us." But Jesus said to him, "Do not hinder him; for he who is not against you is for you...And He (Jesus) said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father." But He said to him, "Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God." (NASB)

Are you we flexible and willing as Christians? Have we become so stuffy with our ‘thou shall not’ and ‘that is not biblical,’ we have lost the sight of the truth - Jesus went out with the people. Yeah?! We ask God so much, and become like petulant children when we do not receive in the time we desire, or get what we think, we should, or if the chastisement of another is not what we like. So, when we see others doing what we are doing, and it is a little different, we decide to question the validity, rather than try to see what we can learn, and how we can grow from exchanging of ideas. Or better yet, we decide they are too young and not ready, and should be ignored, until we decide they are ready. Not consulting God, not once. What we do, is asked Him to bless our actions, not to direct our path, thus, we just start doing because we know, what is best for all. Then questions God – What happen? How arrogant we have become in our well endowed exegetical skills, we have lost the real focus of Jesus’ ministry – relational evangelism grounded in unconditional and redeeming love. It was never meant to be an exclusive, member’s only club for the select group of faith believer, but rather it is for all of mankind. See it is not about us, or for a selfish intent to ingratiate ourselves with the ‘good people’; it is about Him. Only with this fundamental foundation of awareness and recognition, can we become more flexible and willing to submit to God, so that when He calls our name and it not as expected, we go.

However, when we are called, we usually are never quite ready to do what is asked at that moment. We want to fix some things, change some stuff, and make arrangements. We act as if we do not serve an all-seeing God, all-knowing God, and all-powerful, and does not need to put on hold. We forget he call all of his disciples in the middle of their madness, and Saul, on his way to destruction. So, why are we telling Him to wait? If God calls you, He has already made the provision, we just have to trust in the one, we say, we trust; to begin to apply the truth we know. Not worry about what you did, or did not do, or even what you are in the middle of doing. He asked for you, just as you are. This should be enough to make you shout all over the building, and dance the dance of praise uninhibited; once you realize He loves you enough and saw your future that He taps in your present to get you started. See, He chose you, in spite of you, all that is asked is willingness and flexibility. Are you willing? Are you flexible? Are you open? To a God that makes the illogical, logical, the impossible, possible; and the out of order, become the perfect order. The question is your faith such that it allows you to become flexible and willing to serve.

Living a life of distinction

Jer. 1:4-5 ‘Now the word of the LORD came to me saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations." (NASB)

Living a life of distinction is not a mere idea, or fleeting thought, or happenstance occurrence. It happens before we are born, but we must be willing to submit to the greatest in us and the Most High God above us. However, if we do not recognize it for what it is, others can see it and use it for their good, or evil. Yet, when we decide to answer the call within us, to live the authentic ‘you’, and know that you, the person matters, life changes for us. Even if it is not popular, know it is the well-crafted gift in explanation or description. And at the same time, it is not, because we are fashioned by the Father’s love in the womb, at conception, and the moment we own it, we become it. We become for that thing a beacon of light drawing others to you.

Living a life of distinction does not mean there shall be not frustrations, struggles, or pains in this life, only that you will know with a incredible certainty ‘this too shall pass’. Living your life is so much different because although you are nervous or wondering if you shall be well received, when you walk in the moment. In that moment, it can only be described as being in the zone. Your distinctiveness draws your enemies to give accolades for your actions, accomplishments, and achieves. Strangers are intrigued and those who know you are in awe. As they look back at what you use to be, the vapor of what was, and the wonder standing before them now, is the real mccoy. The only thing that can explain it is the God-factor. Living a life with distinction allows others to see manifest favor of God in HD.

The Poem - Dash

The following is a poem by Linda Ellis © 1998.

I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth...
And now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own; the cars .... the house... the cash.
What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard ... are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left. (You could be at "dash mid-range")
If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real,
And always try to understand the way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger, and show appreciation more,
And love the people in our lives like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile...
Remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy's being read with your life's actions to rehash...
Would you be proud of the things they say about how you spend your dash??

So, as you comtemplate this poem and the meaning it has ask yourself- How am I living my dash? Am I being the Christian I teach about, preach about, explain about? Or have I become so confident and comfort with the life that "I" built, I need no improvements or adjustments. Do the leadership I envision is the leadership, I model? The relational evangelism I seek, I am making the choices and the connections to make it happen, or are we just too afraid and insecure to reach to the lost because they do not fit? Living the dash is more than an idle endeavor. It is an intentional steps with grace filled moments with a forgiveness legacy but on an unconditional love proof.

Achieved and receiving

We all have to prepare for things in life, or we should do so. In the bible it talks about no one builds a house without counting the cost. Thus, preparing is part of counting the cost. It allows for you to sustain the place you move into, once you get there. Without preparation, nothing quite work well. Now of the preparation are done for us but see we all have our part to play – leaving our legacy. So, we cannot just enjoy the fruits of others labor without laboring for the next generation. See too many times in modern day, we do not want to work for what we will not reap from before we leave. However, we have no problems living the life of Riley because of someone else work…Someone else tears….Someone else doing without…Someone else mistreatment…See, we too, not just this generation of millennials, feel we are entitled to do so. We have not realize the desired outcome, we seek can only be realized, when we are ready to get out of the boat, and walk on the water. Yet, this cannot be done because we desire the easy route, the familiar ways, and the faith with proof. But you see, no one ever accomplishes, achieves anything staying within our comfort zone. Remaining in the traditional way, do not get me wrong traditions are not bad in and of themselves, but the failure to understand the meaning of them is the problem. We do because they said we should, If we learn the reasond for traditions we are doing, many would soon fade out of existence because the need they is no longer, and it our time to create new. We need to begin to seek the truth and the authentic, and then we can see prosperity in a new way. We must understand there is a process to achieving and receiving, which requires moving into the uncomfortable. Moving outside our comfort zone for many of us is painful, mentally, emotionally, and psychological…Isaiah 66:7-9 - "A woman does not give birth before she feels the pain; she does not give birth to a son before the pain starts. No one has ever heard of that happening; no one has ever seen that happen. In the same way no one ever saw a country begin in one day; no one has ever heard of a new nation beginning in one moment. But Jerusalem will give birth to her children just as soon as she feels the birth pains. In the same way I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born," says the LORD."If I cause you the pain, I will not stop you from giving birth to your new nation," says your God (NCV) Neither will God allow for us to go through without receiving a blessing, the bounty from our pain. Because God math is different than ours, He subtracts to add, and divides to multiply. If you ever have to give up to get something, then this resonates with a clarity that makes you know your life, and His way a little more clearly…Then process of achieving and receiving is no longer a mystery, but a heavenly revelations.

My Philosophical Bent

For the things which we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing: men become builders by building houses, and harpists by playing the harp. Similarly, we become just by the practice of just actions, self-controlled by exercising self-control, and courageous by performing acts of courage . . . [W]e must see to it that our activities are of a certain kind . . . Hence it is no small matter whether one habit or another is inculcated in us from early childhood; on the contrary, it makes a considerable difference, or rather, all the difference." From Aristotle's Ethics. The ironic thing is everyone knows this, maybe not in these words but in our own words. Yet, we continue to ignore this simple truth. Today, we no longer require of our children the respect, the set the high expectations, and we negotiate what should not be non-negotiables. All because we do not want to let them down, or hurt their feelings. We give stuff rather than teach ethical living, integrity and civility, and give our self. Why? Because it is easier, than doing the work it takes, and putting out effort to correct and educate intentionally. Now, we wonder why we, see so many people who feel entitled, and why they cannot cope. Well, we have not allowed our expectations to match our actions, therefore the goals and outcome are not what we want to achieve. But Shakespeare in"As You Like It": put it this way, and we would do well to pay attention to it …..All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts . . Until we understand when it is time for us to play that part, play it, and stay in our lane, we will always find ourselves wondering – how do I move from here and achieve my goal?...The answers lies in our choices…In our decisions…Our inability to control ‘do what you feel’ mentality…Man’s distinction is we are capable of reflecting on our past and the motives behind them, approving and disapproving what we are done. Usually this comes when we are facing death, or a brush with death, personally or loved one, all too late for most, and with far too many carcasses (mentally, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually). We destroy others because we have not learned to put in practice the truths we know and to control the urges we carry as crutches – the selfish gene that dominates us. John 3:19-21 - This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through (NIV). We got to get this or the darkness shall consume us, and we shall have nothing but our own self to blame…

It is one of those days!

Okay, this post shall be a little different. I thought I put in something more personal stuff here. Yesterday, was horrible, I just felt like h-e-double hockey sticks. I was like what am I doing here in this town, doing this job, and where the heck is my life going. Why does God like to play games with me, or am I being so hard-headed that I am trying to do what I want, not what God said? You know the day where you feel you are between not here, and not there yet.You do not talk to anyone about it because heck, no one really gets it, and you get some lame response that result in you wanting to just go off. But instead you smile, and say something equally lame, shake your head and move the heck on…Yes, I was there yesterday. People say, I will be there but when you cannot articulate it where they understand, or they do not get it because it takes them beyond the peaceful shores of surfaced and light stuff; not so much of being there…So, after completing my professional obligations for the night around 9pm, and preparing for a bed, I was reminded by God in way it would only make sense to me (God knows how to talk to each of us, to get our attention)…How great is His mercy toward me…He is forever faithful toward me…Always he has provides for me, when I could not see him, feel him or recognize his hand, he is always there working things out for me. Loving me and preparing me for the next phase of my life, and this disorientation is just me getting use to this new place that I am currently sit in my Christian walk. I could no longer shake my tail feather, and get what needs to be done, done. ..See, I forgot how God just shows up out of the blue, and grants sparkle of grace in my life. Then I realize, Great is His Grace and Mercy toward me with such gravity, I find tears forming in my eyes, brimming, my face warms, my vision blurs, and the droplets roll down my cheek…And I begin to ask God what, whatever you are doing in this season, please do not do it without me because of my lack of knowledge or unbelief…I receive a calm over me, and see with my heart, peace, and know if nothing else is down for me, he has done enough… I see his manifold blessings come rushing toward me of my past, my present, and my future. See, his blessings manifest daily in my spirit, and His grace is sufficient for me; I just have to believe. ..Matthew 14:25-33 - During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God." …Yeah, that was me too…but I am good now…I hope the next time you are where I was yesterday, you find encouragement to push through it, and not let it over take you….

Integrity of Christian

Integrity (the state of being sound or undamaged or unwavering...2 Timothy 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind). of a Christian...The first question must be asked and answered is before we go on with our 'pious lives'- are we doing God's will?...If we are not, then we should just keep still because we are just spinning our wheels and creating a mess for others to clean up, and for us to finagle a way to get out of the responsibly...It is not enough to provide a beautiful descriptive outlook of God's glorious presence and love, but really, we need to be able to relate the information in a usable form to whomever we speak to, and demonstrate in how we live, our life daily...For example, the other day a woman muse over how we can be an examples, even when we do not think about; it is just who we are..she was in the a public restroom washing her hands, and as she left, another person in the restroom told her ' you did that right.' She was both surprised and awed that someone would be watching something so mundane, routine, and basic, but it was important to the stranger, and she complemented her on it... thus, we are always example to someone, even when do not intend to be, we are not trying to impress some - we are the only bible some people will ever see; scary, but true....

Living, Christian integrity, Socrates once said - 'What we we're enagaged in here isn't a chance conversation but a dialogue about the way we ought to live our lives'. He was talking about the exchange between teacher and students, but as Christian it is also applicable because as my pastor likes to say -' is not by accident, or coinciden that you are where you are, at the time you are there...' they are all opportunities to show the world we have a risen King, and He lives in me, and although I am not perfect, and I striving for excellence in His will. This means that we must be comfortable with our walk, and that cannot be done, without scholarship, implementation, application, so that you will learn what not to do, just you have learned what not to wear - 2 Tim 2:15-16 : Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness...This allows you to be comfortable, confident, and convincing because it is the true you, and not an attempt to impress - fidelity (conforming to the truth itself)...We are, who we love, and we love God...as we represent the diversity of his character, infinity of his love, and the largess of his forgiveness... and the mentors in our life participate in shaping our core principles and values,  then we should do the same should and be true Christian...as with everything there will be bumps, struggles, falls, but we get up and learn - what happen in life are 1 of 2 things: teaches a lesson we shall never repeat, or an experience we are destine to repeat until we learn the lesson...the only difference in getting it right is mercy, grace, based in love...God is love....good day my friends

The Right Conditions

Song of Songs 7:10-12 - I belong to my love, and his desire is for me. Come, my lover, let us go to the countryside, let us spend the night in the villages. Let us go early to the vineyards to see if the vines have budded, if their blossoms have opened, and if the pomegranates are in bloom— there I will give you my love (NIV).

The right conditions allows for the enjoyment that filled of contentment as it allows for cherished moments to be treasured forever; when the relationship is gone. See, enjoyment without contentment leaves you empty. Yet, we gain the prevalent, immediate gratification which comes from the physical intimacy but it, like most facades in life, leaves us wanting after it is over. All because we missed the cues, the nuances, and silent messages of the body language, in order to fulfilled our humanly need. Now, before we go on, I am not saying the physical intimacy is wrong, or inappropriate, I am concluding without the right conditions, it is empty and worthless. See our fleshly desires, and human logic keeps us from seeing, this truth - birds of a feather flock together, or should I say, what does godly have to do with ungodly? God has given us instructions in nature we, man, in our infinite ability to reason, and think, have gotten lost, in what we think is right, or perfect or best. While ignoring the fundamental truth, it is about timing, and timing lets each of us know the conditions are right.

In the verses, you see the there is a longing and desire to come together, but only if, the conditions are right. We longer wait for the right conditions; we do what makes us feel good, and is right to us. We consummate physical relationships, for the same reasons we give our seal of approval to business deals and new promotion – self and what man thinks is a good. Like with physical intimacy, we do not think about future implications of our present actions which have lasting and some times, detrimental consequences lingering long past the act. We are emotional people who find comfort in the twins - insecurity and man’s approval is vital to our standing. We forget and ignore the hallow truth that changes lives, instead our lens we see life through, and dictates our relational connections, for all aspect of our lives, and it is flawed. However, if we wait for the right conditions to consummate and validate, all relational connections, and then we would have less of rattled lives. We would have less unrest, a more forgiving heart; bitterness would be shunned, rather than embraced as a badge of honor, and confidence in who God is, would increase, dramatically. We no longer hear ourselves saying those old clichés that say more about the speaker, than it does about the issue spoke of – it does not matter, it is no big deal, and I did not think about it (consequence and implications). Therefore, we would reduce the number of times we ask God these questions – How did I get here? …Why is this happening to me?...What did I ever to do to desires this?...Why don’t the get?...When the truth lies in ‘self-focused’ mindset, and the refusal to do the unpopular and the difficult. Waiting for the right conditions before acting, according to God, demonstrate and illustrate our behavior, obedience, what words could never teach or explain. LORD is – the Priest (minister to the needs), the Prophet (forecaster for our future) and the King (sovereign ruler) of my life. This is what waiting on the right conditions does for us in love, and in living life.

What are we thinking? Change is, what it is...

Matt 8:21-22 -Another of the disciples said to Him, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father." But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead (NASB)."

We are finicky people when it comes to change. We like it, change, when it is a gradual evolution that is unfelt, unseen, and without immediate consequence to our lives, otherwise we resist, or if it is for someone else. This is the main reason, most find it difficult to face death, become emotional at birth, grapple with the notion of marriage, or graduating result in nervous uncertainty. The immediacy sends our mind into a tizzy of whirling unsettled state of psyche mayhem. As it has us confronting our fears, reminds us of what we have not done, and revelations after revelations of what we have deferred or postponed to a later day. The later day is here. We act if it is a shock to us, yet, the truth of the matter we have strived, worked for this all along. What am I talking about? As Christian, we all say we want to go to heaven, or we are living our life to live again, or this is not my home –death….We engaged in the physical intimacy that creates baby – birth…We take intentional actions to obtain our perfect and just so right mate – marriage…We take the classes, do the internship, participate in the networking arena, and work hard to get the good grades – graduation…Yet, we act as if change is some foreign movie with subtitles and we do not really get the gist of the movie. It is not. We are all confronted, challenged with changes and we all know, but we constantly ignore its existence….You ever hear this quote or old adage – the only constant in this life is change- It is. Sometimes it is unexpected and immediate, but if we are doing, what we say we are doing as ‘good’ people and/or fellow labourers of Christ, Christians, then nothing should surprise except for the when, because it should not be an ‘if’. However, we should not be resistance to change.

Every day we are confront with opportunities, choices, to change; to do the thing we said, we wanted to do. But if it does not come in the way we wanted, from the person we expected, manifest in the desired environment, or the best circumstances, we become indignant. We begin making baby steps of living in a mental space of negativity and unproductive perspectives. We begin creating our own enemies because we have not learned to live by the providence of God. Yet, we push toward the mark of changing, growing, evolving, and seeking. What do you expect? No, change….not so much…see we get, what we seek in this life…So, we do not have to say, let me go do this or that because when it is time to do, we just do it….Because it does not take us working harder to get the change, it is about us working smarter to achieved the desired change!

Sometimes you are the sacrifice

Gen. 22:10-12 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, "Abraham! Abraham!" "Here I am," he replied. "Do not lay a hand on the boy," he said. "Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.(NASB)"

Sometimes we are the sacrifice. We must trust God will provide, in spite of what we see. Like Abraham did. See, there were two sacrifices on that fateful day, we hear so many preach and teach about. When Abraham was instructed to lay his only son (the promised seed), on the altar for a sacrifice, he really asked for more. Yes, it was. The sacrifices were interdependent, if one was secured, and then the other was saved to create a more perfect sacrifice for the future. The other sacrifice, most do not speak about is Abraham. See, it was important to God to know Abraham was willing to sacrifice all to him, trusted him unquestionably, and Abraham obedient is not a negotiation. Then, there is no need to sacrifice, Isaac, the promised seed.

God saw, Abraham accepted that He, his Lord, has a more perfect plan, even when Abraham did not understand or see it…Now what are you unwilling to sacrifice, and thus, forfeit the promise seed to flourish. All because you are too smart for your own good…have retractable trust…a delicate and fine point focus that is easily interrupted…fear that clouds your clarity…Sometimes we are the sacrifice, but we are beholden to our truth, our logic, our box, therefore, losing more than just today or right now. Because it is the tiny changes that never occur, thus, the big changes will always be on lay-away, or a dream deferred to later…See, sometimes we are the sacrifice to reap the legendary blessings which is meant to change generations; one plant, one waters, one tends the garden, but God gives the increase; have you done your part?. Let it rain, and see the Shekinah Glory reign upon us!

Moving to the next level

In this time period of unsure economic times. Here is something to think about - Moving to the next level. We all want that promotion in our porfessional, personal, and spiritual relationship, and financial status. However, many of us do not want to move outside of our comfort zone. Going into the arena, walking on the road never taken my 'me'? Not many people actually sign up for that type of tour of duty but in order to move upward and forward, we all must go outside of familiar territory to reach the next level. For some of us it never comes because we are never force or we do not rise to the occasion, or we are forced - this happens to all of us. Some of the time the movement so minor that you do not think about it, it just happens. Yet, deliberate, decisive, goal oriented actions into the unfamiliar takes a leap of faith.  We, Christians, should  know the promises given, and understand who gives them. Thus, you go when all around questioned the logic of it all. You go places where you are challenged to pick up your game that if you do not step up to the challenge, you are overwhelmed with the fear, engulf by nerves of uneasinest, and succumb to stagnation of running in places. You become angry with life and blame others for what only you can change. As envy of anothers' success, progress, bounty eats away at your clarity, and the view of living is colored by the madness..think about it for a minute..you will get..

You see gifts, attention, annointing will not keep you where the foundation has not been laid, and the foundation for you is laid where God has directed you to go and what he has instructed you to do. Everyone is different, so what is for one is not for other, but all matter in the larger scheme of things; so do not assume your way is the way for another, even you end up in the same places. Each learns differently, thus another road needs to be taken, for your friend, family, or foe, even you are going to the same place...Although, our minute glimpse comprehension of reality, truth, right, knowledge, order, logic, and love, do not always allow us to visibly see it. Faith becomes the compass that guides us to the next level, if we believe and trust without reservation.

I do not make these statements lightly or without proof...Saul needed his tenacious and unrelenting determination to do the work as Paul; next level, unknown, foundation laid...David need the time as the shepherd boy, the hidding in the woods, and relationships with Jonathan to be the king after God's heart, next level, unknown, foundation laid...Peter the scrupulous money changer, next level unknown, foundation laid, the rock on which the church was builit...if we look at our lives, risk we take and choices we make, no one else sees, and only in time did it become clear...time explains everything, when ones do not clarify, if we believe..if it shows us, it was a mistake, and working harder was the answer, then more would be winner and have success stories but there is more. there is an education in the mistake and it directs you to your next day, and lay the foundation to your future...

I believe God's logic is summed up with this...love is nothing until you give it away, freely..work has no meaning until you work to help another...words are worthless until it is matched with your actions...winning competition has no reward unless it brings you growth.....amazing....Isaiah 1:19-20 -If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; but if you resist and rebel,  you will be devoured by the sword." For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
